The selection panel will be looking at GPA, academic honors, extracurricular activities, leadership roles, attendance and service hours documented for school and community. The deadline for this application is 8 a.m. Friday, March 27th.
It is always a good idea to contact any college or university you are considering on attending after high school to see if they will accept the dual enrollment course as a transfer credit before you pay money to take it. Many universities have websites you can go to that provide specific information about which transfer credits are accepted. The Missouri Department of Higher Education provides a Course Transfer Tracker for students to use to see how courses will transfer between Missouri colleges and universities. You can view this tracker by following this link.
The grade and corresponding GPA you receive for a dual credit course will be placed on your permanent college transcript, so only take a course for dual credit if you are confident you will do well in the course.
Drury University’s Dual Credit program allows high school students to take seated classes during regular school hours or online. Students earn both high school and university credit at a reduced rate. The cost for Drury courses is $70 per credit hour. For course information, please see your counselor. If you have questions about Dual Credit, please contact Beth Nation at enation@drury.edu, Carol Pope at cpope002@drury.edu or call (417) 873-7331.
The Dual Credit Program allows high school students, while still attending their local school, the opportunity to enroll in and receive both high school and college credit during normal class hours. Participation in the dual credit program enables high school students to get a “head start” on their college career as well as prepare them for the challenges of college courses. Credits earned under these programs will be applicable towards a degree at Crowder College and are generally transferable to other colleges and universities. They offer a few (3 -5) scholarships each semester to their DC/DE students. The cost for Crowder courses is $ 65 per credit hour.
