Please pay close attention to the deadlines, most of which are in March and April. Scholarships will be updated each year with new information.

Listed below is information on some of the more popular state and regional scholarships. While there may be a few national scholarships also listed, the majority of them may be found by looking on FastWeb or SallieMae. The scholarships listed on this page are not offered through Aurora High School. Applicants should click on the link for each scholarship and follow the corresponding directions. Please also check websites for specific deadlines.

Cappex: To assist students in finding merit-based scholarships

Missouri Dept. of Higher Education: A number of state sponsored scholarship programs are offered through the MDHE website including A+, Bright Flight, ACCESS Missouri, Minority, and other scholarships/grants. 

Academy of Hair Design: Offers six $1000 and two $2500 scholarships. Deadline is typically mid March.

Access Extra Scholarship: A private scholarship for students eligible for the Access Missouri Financial Assistance Program and who have earned a cumulative 3.50 or higher on a 4.0 scale weighted or unweighted GPA through at least seven semesters at a Missouri high school. Please note, in order to qualify the GPA will need to be converted to 4.0 scale.

American Academy of CPR and First Aid is proud to sponsor the “Save a Life” Scholarship, offered exclusively to students majoring in the healthcare and education fields. We know that caregiving and teaching can both be challenging but incredibly rewarding professions. This is why we made this commitment to further the education and career development of future doctors, nurses, technicians, professors, and teachers of all areas of specialization with this scholarship.  The scholarship application is typically due in early October.

American Fire Sprinkler Scholarship Program: Ten $2000 scholarships available to high school seniors. Deadline is typically late March/early April. 

American Legion Scholarships: There are a number of scholarships available under this category for students who are descendants of a veteran. Specifics on scholarships, including deadlines, additional criteria, and award amounts may be found by visiting the website. Although deadlines vary the typical deadline is mid April. Your counselor may have additional information.

Arch City Granite Scholarship: $1000 Scholarship for students in Missouri or Illinois

Associated General Contractors of Missouri: The AGCMO Education Foundation Scholarships are awarded to students entering the construction industry or a related field, such as engineering (civil, mechanical, etc.) or architecture. The information page provides more details on the qualifications for application and how to submit the application with the required additional information. 

Association of Government Accountants Scholarship: Available to students planning on majoring in an Accounting or Business Management related field. (Deadline typically March) See your counselor for local scholarship forms.

Athnet Sports Recruiting: $1,000 for an athletic scholarship. a 400-500 word essay describing how the lessons you have learned through playing sports have positively impacted you as you pursue your college education. Deadline typically June 1st 

Ava's Grace Scholarship Foundation: Provides children of the incarcerated in the state of Missouri a chance to better themselves through education. 

Better Business Bureau: Applications are typically due mid-June.

Bezos Scholars Program: There’s no experience like the Bezos Scholars Program—a transformative, year-long, no-cost leadership development program that amplifies youth voice, collaboration and action so young people with passion can start making a difference today. Each year, 17 exceptional juniors from the U.S. and Africa, along with educators from each of their schools, are selected as Bezos Scholars.

Student scholars receive leadership training from noted experts along with free college advising and tutoring. At the center of the program are community change projects—fresh, achievable and sustainable approaches to solving urgent problems, conceived and launched by Scholars with our support. https://www.bezosscholars.org/

BodyLogicMD Scholarship Program: This $5000 scholarship is offered twice a year to aspiring medical professionals.  

Braxton Rethwisch Scholarship: Each year the Missouri Association for College Admission Counseling (MOACAC) is pleased to offer two $1,000 scholarships to students who exhibit a commitment to learning and have demonstrated leadership skills and/or community service involvement. For more information, or to apply for the Braxton Rethwisch Scholarship, please complete the application which is typically due in mid-March.

Breakthrough Junior Challenge This is an annual global competition for students to inspire creative thinking about science. Students ages 13 to 18 from countries across the globe are invited to create and submit original videos (5 minutes in length maximum) that bring to life a concept or theory in the life sciences, physics or mathematics. The submissions are judged on the student’s ability to communicate complex scientific ideas in engaging, illuminating, and imaginative ways. The winner will earn a $250,000 scholarship.

Bright Flight Scholarships: This scholarship is available to students who typically test in the top 5% of all ACT or SAT scores in the nation. Amounts vary yearly depending on the Missouri state budget.

Buick Achievers Scholarship Program: For students who plan to major in a field of study that focuses on engineering, technology, design or business, with an interest in the automotive industry. Deadline is typically late February.

Cat Zingano Overcoming Loss Scholarship: Cat is an inspiration to many for the fight she displays in all aspects of her life. The Cat Zingano Overcoming Loss Scholarship will be awarded to a student who is fighting through their own loss of a close family member, legal guardian or loved one, and is in need of financial support for their education as they move forward.

Christian Connector: Provides a free Christian college information service as well as a $2500 scholarship drawing. 

Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation: believes that investing in students who are leaders, both academically and in service to others, will result in positive, lasting change and sustainable communities. receive a chance for one of 150 college scholarships worth $20,000 through the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation.

The Cooke College Scholarship Program is an undergraduate scholarship program available to high-achieving high school seniors with financial need who seek to attend and graduate from the nation's best four-year colleges and universities. In addition to the monetary award, Cooke scholars receive comprehensive educational advising, significant cohort-based programming, and graduate school funding, as well as access to a thriving network of more than 2,600 fellow Cooke scholars and alumni. The Cooke Foundation College Scholarship Program application normally closes at the end of October.

Community Foundation of the Ozarks Scholarships: Opens 1/1/23. Deadline for most scholarships- April 14, 2023

Conservation Foundation of Missouri Scholarship: CFMO offers 5 $1000 scholarships to high school seniors or undergraduates in different natural resources areas. Preference will be given to those demonstrating financial need. Applications are usually due by December 31.

Coolidge Scholarship: The Coolidge Scholarship is a full-ride, four-year, merit scholarship that may be used by recipients for undergraduate study at any accredited college or university in the United States. Any high school junior who plans to enroll in college in the fall of 2024 and is an American citizen or legal permanent resident is eligible to apply (current high school seniors are not eligible to apply). Winners may use the scholarship to pursue any academic major.coolidgescholars@coolidgefoundation.org

Crowder College 2023-2024 Scholarships: Crowder College offers Academic, Departmental, Athletic, Performance and Foundation Scholarships intended to assist students and their families in meeting college expenses. Multiple scholarships may be awarded based on student need and eligibility requirements. A+ students are eligible for Honors or Academic scholarships. Tuition and common fees are paid by the state of Missouri through the A+ program when attending a community college. University "A+ Scholarship" awards are not funded by the MO A+ Program and only cover a fraction of tuition and fees.

Discover Student Loans Scholarship: giving away $100,000 in scholarships to high school and college students.  Students are automatically entered to win a $2,500 scholarship when they sign up to receive helpful tips on planning and paying for college.

Dr. Darrell "Jack" Holley | MUSIC Scholarship Application:The Dr. Darrell “Jack” Holley | MUSIC Scholarship application is now available. Six $2,000.00 scholarships (non-renewable) will be awarded to students who graduate in 2023 from high schools in MUSIC member districts. The funding of the scholarships is provided by proceeds from the MOASBO-MUSIC Annual Golf Tournament and corporate donations.

Dylan James Miller Memorial Scholarship: Undergraduate and graduate students from Missouri are eligible to apply if they are earning an automotive or diesel repair degree or certificate. In your application, write about why you are interested in pursuing this field of study.

Ed Stegner Natural Resource Scholarship: This scholarship was established to provide major financial aid to encourage and assist students in five areas of natural resource management: fisheries, forestry, wildlife, parks and recreation and soil and water conservation. Click on the link below for more information. Deadline to apply is typically December 31.

Elks Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship: Any high school senior is eligible. Deadline is typically early December. Applications must be sent to: Springfield Lodge No. 409; 2223 East Bennett; Springfield, MO 65804. 

Epsilon Sigma Alpha: Multiple scholarships are available for residence in the state of Missouri. There are different requirements for each scholarship. Applications are usually due around the first of February. You may apply to up to three scholarships. Included in this set of scholarships are general ones that most seniors would qualify for and then some very specific scholarships, such as for architecture, teaching, cancer survivor.

Flavorful Futures Scholarship: We are looking for fun and unique candidates for our Flavorful Futures Scholarship. Fleet Reserve Association (FRA) -- Americanism Essay Contest. You will write an essay to promote the spirit of Americanism and patriotism among our country's youth. Visit the website and select the Americanism Essay Contest from the Events tab. Deadline is typically December 1.

FFA : Multiple scholarships are sponsored through this site by businesses and individuals through the National FFA Foundation.

GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program - Leadership, drive, integrity and citizenship are the characteristics demonstrated by students who earn this scholarship. More information can be found on the website. Deadline is typically early January.

Hagan Scholarship: The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship designed to help high-achieving students from small towns and rural areas graduate college debt-free. Recipients must: a) graduate from a public high school located in a county having fewer than 50,000 residents, or b) graduate from a remote rural school located in a county having more than 50,000 residents. Hagan Scholars from 43 states are currently enrolled at 358 colleges and universities. Five hundred more scholarships will be awarded in April 2022. The scholarship provides up to $48,000 over four years to attend college. Recipients must enroll at an eligible four-year not-for-profit college or university the first semester following high school graduation. Free Workshops, Schwab Brokerage Accounts, and Study Abroad provide recipients with a practical understanding of important life skills not typically taught as a part of the school curriculum.

Imagine America Foundation - The Imagine America Foundation (IAF), established in 1982, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing scholarships for education, research and training support for the career college sector.  If you are a high school senior or recent high school graduate, you could be eligible to receive a $1,000 career college education scholarship. Applying for this educational scholarship is easy! The hard part is choosing which one of our approximately 400 career college and vocational training school partners offers the best program for your goals. With our long history in the career college sector, we have relationships with schools that offer quality programs in growing fields. Injury Lawyers Scholarship - This scholarship is available for high school seniors and current college students nationwide who will be attending or currently attending a 4-year college/university or 2-year community college. Must have a minimum 2.5 GPA. One time award of $1,500. All applications must be submitted no later than 05/31. Scholarship specific to students who have been affected by a personal injury.

Dr. Darrell “Jack” Holley/MUSIC Scholarship: Six $2,000.00 scholarships (non-renewable) will be awarded to students who graduate in 2024 from high schools in MUSIC member districts. Only one application per district is allowed. Please see your counselor if you are interested in applying.

James L. and Nellie M. Westlake Scholarship Program: Offers scholarships to high school seniors in Missouri planning to attend a 4-year university with financial need and cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher. Deadline is typically February 1st.

Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship: This scholarship is offered to students nationwide in memory of Janice M. Scott, who perished during the terrorist attacks of 9/11. Based on financial need, leadership, and an essay among other criteria. Checklist, Application and Criteria. Deadline is typically March.

JCI Senate Foundation and Missouri JCI Senate Scholarship: $1,000 for a graduating high school senior who plan to continue their education at a college, university or vocational school Missouri will give two $250 scholarships.John Dennis Scholarship: A total of sixteen $1000 scholarships will be presented to high school seniors across the state by the Missouri Sheriffs' Association. Students must intend to major in Criminal Justice, plan to attend a Missouri college or university, and have a 2.0 GPA. Application deadline is typically the end of January.

John T. Belcher Memorial Scholarship: The Missouri School Board Association is offering one $1000 regional scholarship and one $1500 scholarship to the state winner. Each district may select one student to compete for the scholarship. An essay is required.

Junior Chamber International Scholarships: The Missouri Junior Chamber International Senate is offering at least two $250 scholarships with the possibility of an additional $1000 scholarship. Winners will be selected based on academics and leadership aptitude. The application deadline is typically mid December.Kansas City Associated Equipment Distributors Scholarship: For students planning to pursue an associates degree in Diesel Mechanics or Heavy Equipment Repair. Deadline is typically March 1st. See your counselor after November for the application. Students must have a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Junior League of Springfield Junior League Scholarship: Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must be: • Female • A US Citizen, US National or US Permanent Resident • A resident of Springfield or one of its surrounding communities • Attending secondary school full-time • Anticipating high school graduation in the 2022-2023 academic year • Planning to pursue a degree at an accredited US post-secondary institution for the 2023-2024 academic year • Maintaining a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale Deadline for Submission Applications must be submitted with all required documentation by March 31, 2023.

Kenneth M. Smith Scholarship: Hey JAG Seniors! Do you plan to further your education in the fall? Would you like to have money for college expenses? If the answer is “yes,” apply now! FOUR deserving JAG Seniors will become "Smith Scholars" and have the chance to earn $10,000 paid over four years! 41 $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to seniors or previous SmithScholarship winners.

Kids Chance Scholarship Program: For students who have a parent who has been seriously injured or lost in a worker's comp related accident. Application deadline is typically April.

MAMIC: Each year, The Missouri Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (MAMIC) awards 8 - $1000 scholarships to graduating Missouri high school seniors planning to attend a Missouri college, university, community college, or vocational school. In addition, MAMIC also awards 1 - $1000 scholarship to a current college student.  The eligibility guidelines to be considered for the MAMIC High School Scholarship are as follows: Graduating High School Senior living in Missouri, Candidate must be attending a Missouri high school, Candidate must have successful admission to a college, university, community college, or vocational school in Missouri, Candidate must submit the MAMIC High School Scholarship application with a copy of high school transcript and photo.

Marine Corps League: The winning entry will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship from SWMO MARINE CORPS LEAGUE DETACHMENT 993. Entries may take any form of writing that suits the author’s purpose and should reflect the Marine Corps’ core values of honor, courage, and commitment. DEADLINE: Postmarked by March 25, 2022 ENTRY INFORMATION CAN BE FOUND AT http://springfieldmarines.com/scholarship

Mary Riley Wolfe Memorial Scholarship: Two scholarships totaling $2000 each.

Mattress Advisor: Students who share an essay about their relationship with sleep health will be considered for our award. In addition to offering the Sleep Science scholarship, we have compiled a list of other great sleep related scholarships that your students can apply to. 

Mattress Nerd’s Sustainability Scholarship: $1000 Sustainability Scholarship to the best essay response to a writing prompt on environmental conscientiousness. All applications must be submitted by April 1st, annually. 

Mediacom Communications World Class Scholarship Program: Offers $1000 non renewable scholarships to senior high school students in areas of 15 states where it conducts business in its North Central Division through its World Class Scholarship Program. The application deadline is typically the first part of February.

Military Order of the Purple Heart Department of Missouri Scholarship Program: This program is a $5,000 scholarship spread our over 4 years. The student will receive $1250.00 a year while maintaining a minimum of 12 credit hours at an accredited Missouri college. This program will also consider students wishing to attend an accredited Missouri trade school. The student will receive $1250 a year while maintaining full time status until graduation and certification. This program will end after 4 years. 

Miller Engineering Scholarship- Interested in Engineering? Information regarding this scholarship and an online application is now available. The scholarship gives students field experience, which we find many new engineers in our field do not have. Our scholarship also offers wages for the summer internships they receive as part of our scholarship. Missouri Association of Mutual Insurance Companies: Eight $1000 scholarships will be awarded, one per district in the state of Missouri. Students must submit an application covering family financial need, extracurricular and work activities, and a 75 word essay. Deadline is typically March 1. 

Missouri Dairy Scholars Scholarship: Minimum 2.5 GPA, Enrolled full-time at a two or four year college or university, must work on a dairy farm or have a dairy-related internship for at least three months for each year the student receives the scholarship, must commit to work in the Agricultural Industry in Missouri for at least two years for every one year the student receives the scholarship. Deadline: is typically November. 

Missouri's Cattlemen Foundation Scholarship: Deadline is typically October.Missouri Bankers Foundation Scholarship: Available for seniors planning to major in a banking related field. Find the MBF Application here. A second scholarship is available with the EVERFI application. Deadline is typically March. 

Missouri College of Cosmetology: One $1000 scholarship will be awarded to fall graduates and one $1000 scholarship will be awarded to spring graduates. Contact the Missouri College of Cosmetology at 887-1501. Deadline is usually April.

Eight $1000 Missouri Community Service Commission (MCSC) scholarships are available to 9-12th grade student-volunteers through the High School Student-Volunteer Community Service Scholarship Awards initiative. All materials are typically due on or before March 1st.

Missouri Corn Growers Association: Students must live on a farm or in a rural area, planning to attend a Missouri college and major in agronomy or an agriculture related field. You may obtain more information by going to the website and clicking on the "Education" link.

Missouri Courage Scholarship: Last year the Missouri Courage Scholarship (MCS) awarded more than $10,000 to students from across the state who demonstrated their courage and commitment to LGBTQ+ people in their schools and communities. The deadline is typically March 1.

Missouri Gaming Association: Students can enter posters, articles, or film that warns against underage gambling. The Project 21 Scholarship Program provides Missouri students an opportunity to disseminate their message by writing an article or creating a poster or video addressing the issue of underage gambling. One (1) $2,500.00 first prize scholarship and Three (3) $1,500.00 second prize scholarships will be awarded. 

Missouri Insurance Education Foundation Scholarship: Available to students pursuing an insurance, risk management, or actuarial science course of study. Four $1500 scholarships available. Deadline is typically March.

Missouri JCI Senate Scholarship: Each year (April) $1,000 grants will be awarded to graduating high school seniors in the United States, who plan to continue their education at accredited post-secondary colleges, universities or vocational schools. The number of grants awarded annually will beat the discretion of the United States JCI Senate Foundation. The monies must be used for educational expenses in the first year of full-time study. Checks awarded will be made out in the name of the recipient and the educational institution of their choice. www.usjcisenate.org

Missouri Pork Association's Youth Pork Ambassador Program: One $1000 scholarship will be given to a student who is involved in the pork industry or has a parent involved in the industry. Deadline is typically mid December.

Missouri State Fair Youth in Agriculture scholarship: For Missouri high school seniors. Applications should be submitted to the Missouri State Fair. One $2,500 supreme scholarship, thirty $1,000 scholarships, and seven $1,000 scholarships are being offered.

Missouri Women's Golf Association Scholarship: Available to girls who have played women's golf in high school. Applications must be postmarked by March.

MSLF Access Extra Scholarship: This is a private scholarship for current high school seniors who are eligible for the Access Missouri Financial Assistance Program and who have a 28 or higher on the ACT. The student must be attending a 4-year Access-eligible school. Eligible students will apply at myscholarshipcentral.org, complete a common application, and upload a SAR and ACT report.

OppU Achievers Scholarship: Award: $2,500 Deadlines: Applications accepted year-round with cycle deadlines on December 31, March 31, June 30, September 30 Eligibility: GPA above 3.0 How to Apply: Students submit a short essay through the portal on our scholarship page 

National Wild Turkey Federation Scholarship: Applicants for the scholarship must be members of the NWTF and are judged on their scholastic achievements, leadership abilities, community involvement and commitment to conservation and the preservation of our hunting heritage. The application deadline is typically January 1. For more information on the scholarship program, contact the scholarship coordinator at the Wild Turkey Center by calling (800) THE-NWTF or emailing scholarshipinfo@nwtf.net.

National Wildlife Federation: Students may apply for scholarships of various amounts. Deadlines are typically January 1st.

Ozark Scandinavian Society: $500 to the best 500 words or less essay about student's Scandinavian Heritage or a research type essay about the Scandinavian Influence in Southwest Missouri. Deadline is usually March. Email your essay to ozarkscandinaviansociety@gmail.com.Patriot Guard Riders Scholarship: (1) A son or daughter of one who has given their life in the line of duty, including both military and first responder (police/fire). (2) A son or daughter of an honorably discharged veteran who has passed after their term of service. (3) A son or daughter of a veteran or first responder disabled in the line of duty to the extent that providing an advanced education cannot be easily realized. Application Deadline: April. Ozark Electric Cooperative: is offering 20 (twenty) $500 nonrenewable post-secondary scholarships for the fall semester to area high school graduating seniors who plan to attend college or a trade school. Please stop in to the Counseling Office to pick up the paper application. Applications are due back to the Counseling Office March 15, 2024.

The Recovery Village Health Care Scholarship: A $1,000 award will be given to a student pursuing a health-related degree program. Areas of study that will be considered include, but are not limited to, counseling, social work, emergency medicine, pre-med, nursing, psychology (with a focus on addiction counseling or a substance-abuse related field). Applicants must submit an essay no more than 500 words describing why they are passionate about health care, with a focus on substance abuse and mental health. Essays can draw from personal or professional experience. The deadline is typically the end of June.

African American high school seniors are encouraged to apply for the Ron Brown Scholarship. They early (preferred) deadline is typically November 1, or the regular deadline is typically mid-January. Named for the late secretary of commerce and inspired by his dedication to public service, the Ron Brown Scholar Program offers a $40,000 scholarship to up to 30 African American high school seniors each year based on academic excellence and commitment to public service. Recipients are young African Americans of outstanding promise who are offered intensive mentorship, service opportunities, leadership experiences, and extensive professional development throughout all stages of their careers. Applications must be mailed to the Ron Brown Scholar Program office. Simon Youth Foundation Community Scholarship: $1500 - Additionally, an Award of Excellence- $2,500 renewable scholarship will be given to the top candidate. Deadline is usually February.

Through the Looking Glass Scholarship: High School Seniors. To be eligible, a student must be a high school graduate (or graduating senior), have at least one parent with a disability, and be planning to attend an accredited technical or vocational school or a two- or four-year college. Those planning to attend a two- or four-year college should be pursuing an AA, AS, BA or BS degree. Deadline is typically March. 

United Energy Workers: This $1000 scholarship is available to any High School Senior. The deadline is typically the end of July. 

Unigo: Networking tool that includes opportunities for several scholarships, information, search tools to help students make decisions.

Whitetails Unlimited: Students must write an essay about their interest in the outdoors; hunting, fishing, boating, swimming, etc. Deadline for submission is typically April 1. Must have a 3.0 GPA to apply. Send essay and transcript to Eldon Skinner PO Box 47 Purdy, MO 65734. Students are also encouraged to attend the annual banquet.

VFW Voice of Democracy: We need to spread the word, and we're asking friends like you to help out. The Voice of Democracy Program is open to students in grades 9-12 (Oct. 31 deadline), who are enrolled in a public, private or parochial high school or home study program in the United States and its territories. We want to reach as many patriotic students as possible to compete for the grand prize: $30,000 paid directly to the American college, university or vocational/technical school of their choice! Application.

Ziprecruiter Scholarship: A $3000 scholarship available to seniors with (typically) a June 30th deadline.

Addiction Resource Net: The scholarship is for full-time students pursuing an Associate's, Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate degree. A first and runner-up prize is available through an essay contest, highlighting a subject that is common amongst students, binge drinking on college campuses. We believe that all students should be aware of the harmful effects of binge drinking and hope that this essay contest will help raise awareness on this issue amongst their peers
