Aurora R-VIII personnel have received calls from parents/guardians wanting to enroll their child in the virtual program. Unfortunately, the enrollment period to participate virtually is now closed. If parents/guardians want to enroll a child in the district, the child must participate in the seated format.
An enrollment period will open in November regarding the second semester which begins in January. If parents/guardians wish to enroll their child in the virtual program, or if the child is currently participating in online instruction and wants to attend in the seated format, parents/guardians must complete the process during the enrollment period to make the change.
The enrollment window will open Monday, November 30, 2020 and end Thursday, December 10, 2020. Parents/guardians will need to contact Central Office at 678-3373 to schedule an appointment to complete the enrollment process.
If parents/guardians choose to have their child participate virtually during the second semester, Thursday, January 14, 2021 will be the deadline to switch back to seated if the decision is to be reversed. Some parents/guardians may choose the virtual program; however, after participating for a few days see that this may not be the best option for their child’s learning.
