Dear Parents,

The next instructional packet handout will be on Monday, April 27, 2020.  Building personnel will be completing this from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  The materials will be posted on the district website if parents are not able to pick up the packet or do not want to take the chance of interacting with others.  Posting of the materials will occur on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 for grades preschool through 8th.   Packets will also be placed daily outside the entryways from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Standards which would have been introduced during the last two months of the year will be released for parent use.

As of Thursday, April 23, 2020, 18,243 total meals have been served by Sodexo staff (including both breakfast and lunch).  This is a significant amount and I greatly appreciate the work of Jason Jones and his staff for this accomplishment.

Summer School is a topic that we are continuing to discuss.  District personnel are waiting for additional guidance from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in order to make a final decision.

Results from a recent Graduation Survey showed an overwhelming amount (93%) of students want to have a traditional ceremony (in June) and 75% indicated they want to have a traditional ceremony even if only their parents could attend.  More information will be provided regarding dates and options during the first weeks of May.

All building offices will be open beginning Monday, May 4, 2020.  The staff will be able to keep separation per social distancing guidelines.  Teachers have been coming in to begin packaging student belongings to be given out on Thursday, May 14, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 16, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.  Parents will pull up to the building and the students' bags will be brought to the vehicle.  Procedures for High School students will differ slightly due to items which may be locked or stored in locker rooms.

Thank you for the work you are doing with your children during this unusual time.  Before long, we will be able to continue with our mission to "Ensure That All Students Are Successful Learners."

Stay safe and healthy,
Billy
