Tennis Club

There will be a Tennis Club meeting with Coach Perry on Tuesday, March 27th during Homeroom for any students (male or female) interested in playing tennis FOR FUN this Spring!


T-shirt order forms and picture of the shirt are available on Classroom or in Mrs. Garoutte's room. Shirts are $9 for S-XL, $11 for 2XL, and $13 for 3XL. Please return a completed order form and money to Mrs. Garoutte by Thursday, March 29 at 3:00 PM.


Congratulations to the FFA Knowledge team for placing 1st at the Area Contest. Riley Pope was 1st high individual, Elizabeth Martin was 2nd high individual, Caitlyn Kaye was 9th high individual, and Dwight Jung was 12th high individual. Caitlyn Kaye finished 2nd in Division 1 Public Speaking, Kensie Darst was 2nd in Advanced Public Speaking, Elizabeth Martin received a Silver Rating in Creed Speaking, and Faithlynn Jung received a Silver Rating in Job Interview. Congratulations to all!


FCA Game Day with the Springfield Cardinals will take place on Saturday, April 14th. Cost is $15 which includes a t-shirt, cap, meal voucher and ticket for the game. Students, parents and siblings are eligible to attend. If interested contact Mrs. Theresa Blackburn at the high school. Deadline to sign up and make payment is Friday, March 16th.

Parent/Teacher Conference

March 26th and 27th from 3:30p.m. - 7:00p.m.


NHS Members: Special Olympics Spring Track and Field Games will be held on Friday, April 20, at Carl Junction High School. We will leave the high school at 7:30 AM and return around 2:30 PM. Please sign-up in Mrs. Garoutte's room, 306, by March 2 only if you are sure you can attend on this date.

Every Monday and Friday from 6:40 - 7:40 and every Wednesday from 3:30 - 5:00 at the Old Armory.

This is just a reminder that breakfast is free; however, "Second Chance Breakfast" is only for you to get if you missed first breakfast. If you get more than one breakfast, your account will be charged.

Counseling Office Announcements

On Wednesday, March 28, 2018, the Springfield Contractors Association will be hosting the 2nd Annual Construction Career Day. This event will be held at the Ozark Empire Fair E-Plex from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., and lunch will be provided. If you are interested in a career in construction, this could be an excellent opportunity to participate in learning labs which will allow students to try their hands at various construction industry practices, such as surveying, concrete/asphalt mix, window installation, paint labs, welding simulations, using 3D printing in architecture, building bridges, and laying brick. They are expecting over 2,000 students from Southwest Missouri will attend. Mr. Hines (Tech Design, Foundations of Tech, and A Tech teacher here at AHS) will be taking a group of kids to this event.
